INTRODUCTION:
Tobol Is a brand name of Mecobalamin, co-enzyme type vitamin B12 that occurs in the blood and the cerebrospinal fluid. It is transported to nerve cells more rapidly than other analogues of vitamin B12. Mecobalamin is useful for the treatment of numbness, pain and paralysis due to peripheral neuropathies and megaloblastic anemia.
INDICATIONS:
Peripheral neuropathies such as diabetic neuropathy and polyneuritis, megaloblastic anemia due to vitamin Bu deficiency.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to mecobalamin or other B12 containing product.
PRECAUTIONS:
Mecobalamin should not be used for more than one month unless It is effective. Prolonged use of larger Is not recommended for patients who are directly Involved In handling of mercury and Its compounds. Use of should be discontinued If symptoms of hypersenaWvtty such as eruption occur. Since this drug decomposes on exposure to Iight, It should be used immediately after the package Is opened.
ADVERSE REACTIONS:
Loss of appetite, nausea, diarrhoea or other symptoms of oastiolrrtaatinal upset may rarely occur. STORAGE AND HANDLING:
As mecobalamin Is unstable to light Its exposure should be protected / avoided. This Is the reason Tobol tablets ate provided In special heat and Ight resistant packs to prevent a change In quality during storage.
