Brief Drug information:
Composition: Each film - coated tablet of Levite contains 250mg and 500mg of Levofloxacin. Levite infusion contains 500mg Levofloxacin in 100ml solution.

 Indications:
 Infections caused by pathogens sensitive to Levofloxacin. Pneumonia, Chronic bronchitis, diffuse anbronchiolitis, Bronchiectasis. Secondary infections in Chronic respiratory diseases. Laryngopharyngitis, Tonsillitis (peritonsillits, peritonsiller abscess), Acute bronchitis. Pyelonephritis, Cystitis, Prostatitis, pididymitis,gonococcal urethritis, Non-gonococcal urethritis. Intrauterine infections, Cervicitis, Adnexitis, Bartholinitis, Folliculitis, Furunculosis, Carbuncle, Impetigo, Phlegmon, Suppurative Paronychia (including felon), subcutaneous abscess, Hyderdenitis, Acne conglobata, infectious atheroma, Periproctic abscess. Mastitis, (superficial secondary infection in traumas, burns, operative wounds, etc. Cholecystitis, Cholangitis, Otitis externa, Otitis media, Blephritis, Conjunctivitis, Sinusitis. Bacterial dysentery, infectious enteritis, Salmonella enteritis, Typhoid and Paratyphoid fever, Cholera, Periodontitis.

 Dosage:
Acute Bacterial Exacerbation of Chronic Bronchitis, Community Acquired Pneumonia, Acute Maxillary Sinusitis, Complicated & Uncomplicated skin and soft Tissue Infection; 250mg (1 tab) bid or 500mg (1 tab) OD for 7-14, 10-14 and 7-10 days respectively. Complicated urinary tract infections and Acute Pyelonephritis; 250mg (1 tab) OD for 10 days. Typhoid fever or Paratyphoid fever 250mg (1 tab) bid or 500mg (1 tab) OD 10-14 days.

 Precautions:
As a general rule, the duration of treatment with this drug, should be limited to a minimum required for the treatment of disease, after the susceptibility being confirmed in order to avoid possible occurrence of resistant bacteria. Contraindications: This product is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any ingredients of this product or ofloxacin, pregnant women or expected of being pregnant. Levofloxacin is contraindicated in children under the age of 16 years.

 Drug Interactions:
Co-administration with non-steroidal anti- * inflammatory drugs of phenylacetic or propionic acid derivatives may possibly cause convulsions. Antacids containing aluminum or magnesium and drugs containing iron may interfere with the absorption of Levofloxacin resulting in alteration of the efficacy. Packs: Each tablet contains Levofloxacin 250mg & 500mg in a Alu Alu pack of 10's. Infusion available in Levofloxacin 500mg /100ml solution.
